Financial And Reading Literacy
It is never too soon to start teaching kids about personal finance. Children as early as pre-school age are learning the building blocks of economics, filling piggy banks, playing store, and counting money. This is called “Financial Literacy,” “Reading Literacy.” Strong preschool literacy will focus on developing children’s oral language skills, knowledge of the alphabet code, and students learn letters and sounds while also engaging with meaning of words and stories.
Mentor Teachers
The Teacher Opportunity Corps (TOC) at the SUNY Old Westbury School of Education is a program that seeks to educate a diverse teaching force to empower 21st century students.
