Reading at graded level by third grade: MBK Mentoring is to ensure we have all children become fluent readers by age 8 – the age which reading to learn becomes essential. Research states how imperative it is to focus on reading proficiency by the third grade as a critical step toward increasing the number of children who succeed academically and do well in their lives and careers.
The research-based district-wide approach to teaching reading will be inclusive to more than three assessments administered by the school/district throughout the year and will show a student’s reading performance/grade level and will provide outcome reports to the teacher, parent, and the student.
