Hempstead MBK Explorers Program at ABGS Middle School
The Hempstead My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Explorers Program at ABGS Middle School is dedicated to ensuring equitable access to high-quality educational programs. This initiative provides students with comprehensive financial literacy education, enabling them to develop and practice personal financial management skills essential for lifelong financial well-being. The program is designed for students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade, focusing on applying organizational and decision-making skills to financial and consumer choices. Participants will explore current issues related to consumer rights, technology in money management, and the impact of national and global economics on personal financial plans.
Program Highlights:
After School Program: Held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Financial Literacy Education: Provided by Chase Bank during the day.
STEM Enrichment: In partnership with Morrison Mentors, focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
Social and Emotional Learning, Art and Design, and Robotics: Offered through a partnership with Adelphi LPP.
Mentorship: ABGS MS student mentors support Prospect School during Saturday events, with additional assistance from HHS student mentors.
Special Programming Events: Featuring author Maurice Todd of the famous Snotty Nosed Kids books and extraordinary events on social-emotional learning and financial literacy organized by Cultivating Lives.
